ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Lab and Product Test Lead to join our Automotive Electronic Products (AEP) team as part of CompalUSA, work based in Goleta California. A hybrid work model combining the flexibility of remote work at home with the benefits of on-site collaboration in the Goleta, CA development facility will be employed. The Lab and Product Test Lead will be responsible for Electro-Optical Lab management and all aspects of infrared camera product testing as part of our multi-disciplined development team.
Major responsibilities:
Identify, source and setup appropriate lab equipment for thorough testing of infrared cameras. Validate test programs to ensure product performance goals are met, participate in validation test activities and creation of customer prototype kits. Contribute to development and documentation of effective prototype assembly and test processes. Mentor young test engineers and engineering interns.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience testing infrared camera systems for various applications, including automotive safety
- Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline
- Working knowledge of infrared performance parameters and testing procedures, e.g., NETD, MTF, Responsivity, stray light, intrinsic calibration
- Experience supporting remote development activities, including computer setup, environmental and vehicle-based data collection
- Demonstrated leadership in creation of prototype build processes for customer demos kits and environmental validation testing
- Experience with failure mode analysis of infrared cameras in both development and production environments
