ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to join our Automotive Electronic Products (AEP) team as part of CompalUSA, work based in Goleta California. A hybrid work model combining the flexibility of remote work at home with the benefits of on-site collaboration in the Goleta, CA development facility will be employed. The Senior Electrical Technician will be responsible for Electrical Engineering Lab management, test equipment assembly, electronics troubleshooting and assembly related tasks as part of our multi-disciplined development team.
Major responsibilities:
Identify, source and setup appropriate electronics lab equipment, including soldering, desoldering, inspection and computer test systems. Contribute to development and process documentation for test equipment and prototype assemblies. Electrical and mechanical assembly of prototype kits and test stations. Troubleshoot and resolve printed circuit board assembly issues during development. Mentor young engineering interns.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as an electronics technician
- Associates degree in electronics technology
- Soldering, desoldering and inspection skills for miniature electronics assemblies
- Creativity and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated assembly and mechanical fabrication skills, e.g., installation of prototype hardware in test vehicles, safe use of drill press, lathe, hand tools, etc.
- Lab supervision experience
