What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at Compal USA?
* Provides technical advice and procedures in support of all production programs. Establishes anticipated yield rates and test time standards. Drive improvement in the area of test failures.
* Provides design and manufacturing engineers with preferred and/or available test methods to be used for testing new or existing products. Works with Customers or 3rd party on Test Fixture design.
* Identifies testing problems and provides recommended solutions.
* May provide direction to lower level professional and technical personnel in the completion of assigned projects.
* Prepares procedures and schedules for execution of high reliability test programs and monitors their performance.
* Conducts special testing projects; keeps management advised of program or project status.
* Good understanding of Modbus, Canbus, RS232 (binary packet), Ethernet, and USB, needs to understand both the hardware interface as well as the software (data content). C# REQUIRED, LabVIEW a plus.
* Understanding noise, grounding, measurement techniques and proper loading required.
* 3070 ICT or at least Manufacturing Defects Analyzer fixture design/debug experience would be a plus.
* To participate in Route Cause Analysis when repetitive failure of company's products occur, or failure under warranty.
* To assist and train the Test Technicians, when required, in troubleshooting and repairing returned products from the customers.
* Troubleshoot test processes to determine root cause of defects and improve yields;
* Perform other duties as well.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of five years in related engineering discipline, preferably in electronics-manufacturing environment.
