Companion Pet Hospital is proud to provide exceptional care for companion animals, with a team focus on continuous learning and improvement. Our hospital has been AAHA-accredited for twenty-five years, and we are proud to be certified as a Fear-Free and Cat-Friendly Practice! Our experienced medical team offers personalized services with an emphasis on pet parent education and community involvement. We currently partner with several rescue groups to provide physical exams for homeless animals.

Companion Pet Hospital offers in-house diagnostics, digital radiography, and advanced surgical capabilities- including spays, neuters, soft-tissue, and orthopedic surgeries. Additionally, the hospital specializes in integrative treatments such as laser therapy and acupuncture to enhance wellness when pets may not be responding to conventional medicine. We offer personalized health care packages for puppies and kittens, mature adults, and animals in their senior years.

Our hours of operation are :

Mon, Tues, Wed : 8 : 00 am - 6 : 00 pm

Thurs & Fri : 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

Saturday : 8 : 00 am - 1 : 00 pm

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to :

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for :

A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license required, 1 year professional experience preferred

Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts

Availability to work Saturdays

Excellent client communication and medical record management skills

Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations

Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques

Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens

Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus

Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring

Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and unwavering commitment to animal welfare in a dynamic veterinary setting.

  • Pay Range : Begins at $24 / hr, is dependent on experience
