What are the responsibilities and job description for the LIVE-IN Caregiver needed in Bristol, CT (MUST BE ENGLISH-SPEAKING!) position at Companions & Home Helpers, LLC?
We are seeking a 24 hour live-in caregiver who speaks English fluently. The hours and days will either be one week on and one week off as a live-in caregiver…or…it will be 3 to 4 days of live-in every week. The agency will decide this.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CNA/HHA/PCA certification
- Complete criminal background check, DMV check, & drug screen
- Access to a car
- Possess valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Ability to communicate with clients in a courteous manner and treat them with respect
- 3 or more years of working with the elderly
- Experience as a previous live-in caregiver
Duties (including but not limited to):
- Grooming, bathing, dressing and toileting…focusing on activities of daily living.
- Assisting with general skin care when skin is unbroken and when any chronic skin problems are not active.
- Assisting with pivot transfers when the client has insufficient balance and no strength to reliably stand or pivot.
- Adaptive and safety equipment may be used in transfers, provided the client and caregiver are fully trained in the use of equipment and can direct the transfer.
- Empty or change external urinary and ostomy bags.
- Assisting with client directed non-invasive (non-inserted) care only when there is no need for skilled skin care or for observation.
- Record and report changes in the client’s condition, behavior or appearance to Care Coordinator.
