The Warehouse Supervisor leads assigned warehouse associate team in a high volume, fast paced warehouse environment. The Supervisor is responsible for all facets of the shipping and receiving and is accountable for all factors related to the functioning of the warehouse team. These functions include use of scheduling and production activity control methods, optimization of human resource development through work assignments, enforcement of process control procedures, compliance to safety/quality requirements, and interaction/coordination of activities with other departments/shifts as required.
Job Responsibilities:
· Coordinates distribution center activities, directly supervises associates.
· Manages inbound deliveries, put-away process and outbound shipments.
· Ensures all stored material is organized and clearly identified.
· Develops appropriate loading strategy to effectively manage order processing.
· Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise and tracking warehouse inventory.
· Develops and maintains accuracy standards to ensure unit inventory integrity.
· Monitor and create efficiency reports, conduct process observations and ongoing performance feedback.
· Maintains various records and reports, such as inbound containers, errors/complaint report, and inventory reports.
· Coordinates with other plant personnel concerning shipments, merchandise shortages, etc.
· Enforce safety guidelines and company standards for all warehouse personnel and visitors.
· Continually drive quality through vigorous emphasis on, but not limited to, following shipping/receiving procedures, lean activities, training, identifying & solving opportunities.
· Daily review of shipping/receiving efficiency and identify issues and lead the support team in making improvements.
· Conducts or participates in warehouse shipping/receiving process of product safety/quality investigations and resolutions.
· Monitors shipping/receiving, coordinates team workload and directs personnel to execute the daily schedule and that exceeds shipping/receiving standards and goals.
· Completes all required warehouse process paperwork and maintains applicable databases.
· Make effective operational decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining safety and quality standards.
· Mentor, encourage and motivate team members, ensuring individual and group productivity.
· Train and/or coordinate the training/re-training of associates to meet operational standards.
· Manage personnel to ensure adherence with established standard work instructions and procedures.
· Maintain vacation schedules, approves timeclock entries, and counsels employees in conjunction with human resources, when applicable.
· Document performance and completes performance evaluations on time of the team.
· Set expectations and drives accountability while serving an excellent example to others.
· Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements and Skills:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Five (5) years warehouse distribution experience preferred.
· 3 or more years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment required.
· Communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
· Proven organizational and leadership abilities.
· Problem-solving skills and detail oriented.
· Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
· Advanced skills in MS Office.
· Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, and meet or exceed deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds frequently, 25 pounds occasionally and ability to be actively moving for the majority of any shift.
· Use of Personal protective equipment on the production floor (PPE)
· Physical requirements include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,449.00 - $66,448.00 per year
