Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Mortgage Processing Manager to lead and manage our residential loan processing function. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills and extensive knowledge of all types of residential mortgage products, including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and jumbo loans.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mortgage processing operations to ensure loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and investor guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Support: Supervise and support a team of mortgage processors, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Pipeline Management: Manage the pipeline of residential mortgage loan files from submission to closing, ensuring timely and compliant processing.
- Loan File Review and Audit: Review and audit loan files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations and investor guidelines.
- Collaboration and Process Improvement: Collaborate with underwriters, loan officers, closers, and other departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.
- Performance Metrics and Process Enhancement: Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and service levels.
- Industry Knowledge and Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations, agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA), and company policies.
- Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service is provided to internal and external stakeholders throughout the loan process.
- Escalations and Issue Resolution: Handle escalations and provide solutions to processing or loan file issues.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of experience in residential mortgage processing, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Knowledge of Loan Types: Proven knowledge of all loan types: Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, etc.
- Mortgage Compliance: Strong understanding of mortgage compliance, TRID, RESPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with LOS (Loan Origination Systems) such as Encompass, Calyx, or similar platforms.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Education: High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
