Culinary Lead – Catering Events
Location: NYC-based events (on-site at venues)
Job Type: Freelance / Per-event basis with potential for growth
Comparti Catering is a full-service catering company rooted in Latin American flavors and focused on creating memorable food experiences for weddings, galas, and private events. We’re looking for a dynamic, experienced Culinary Lead to helm the kitchen during events, ensuring flawless execution, leadership, and a true spirit of hospitality.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead culinary operations on-site for catered events, from setup to breakdown
• Manage a team of cooks and prep staff, ensuring smooth communication and timing
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service
• Collaborate with our Chef and Event Producer to understand event-specific needs
• Troubleshoot in real time, adjusting for variables like venue constraints, weather, or timing shifts
• Represent the Comparti ethos: warm, detail-oriented, and full of flavor
Who You Are:
• A confident culinary professional with 5 years of kitchen experience, including leadership roles
• Calm under pressure, organized, and a clear communicator
• Experienced in off-site catering and navigating varied event venues
• Strong eye for plating, presentation, and efficiency
• Passionate about food and hospitality – you take pride in creating beautiful moments through meals
• Flexible schedule with availability on weekends and evenings

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
