We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about integrated behavioral health and excited to help grow a locally respected practice.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with an entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care. As an independent contractor, you will have flexibility in setting your schedule and autonomy in your clinical work, with the support of an experienced and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including those used in MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment).
- Monitor treatment response, side effects, and adherence, adjusting medication regimens as needed.
- Provide integrated care and collaborate with therapists and other members of the care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR system (e.g., SOAP notes, treatment plans, progress notes).
- Participate in clinical team meetings and case reviews as needed.
- Educate clients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and medications.
- Stay up to date with best practices in psychiatry, addiction medicine, and mental health treatment.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial interest in growing the psychiatric arm of the practice and contributing to community outreach or referral development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Hampshire.
- DEA and X-waiver to prescribe controlled substances and MAT.
- Experience in treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a private practice environment.
- Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and harm-reduction models of care.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms (if applicable).
