MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing focusing on Psychiatric Nursing.
Must be certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
An unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Kansas.
Must have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Kansas.
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills
Have completed or will complete any required training within six months of employment.
Must have a current and valid Kansas driver’s license.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Full Time Telehealth option available GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS :
Provide diagnostic psychiatric evaluation and ongoing psychiatric medication management.
Consult with psychiatrists or other professionals when unusual or complex cases are encountered.
Develop and implement treatment plans per agency guidelines.
Distinguish between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose appropriately.
Prescribe appropriate medications. Will plan and institute a course of treatment demonstrating knowledge of drug action, interaction, and reactions.
Initiate requests for laboratory studies as needed. Identify normal and abnormal findings, interpret, and initiate medication alterations or follow-up treatment as indicated.
Collaborate with counselors, social workers, or other treatment team members to coordinate care.
Collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others on conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate.
Return calls and emails promptly (within 24 hours of receipt or sooner if clinically necessary)
Responsible for making independent decisions utilizing national guidelines for treatment interventions.
Complete progress notes within 48 hours of service
Complete identified outcome measures as defined by the agency.
