OBJECTIVE: The Worship Leader will lead the worship ministry at Compass Roanoke, ensuring dynamic and spiritually engaging worship experiences. This role involves coordinating worship services, recruiting and mentoring musicians and volunteers, and collaborating with another Worship Leader to maintain excellence across weekend services. The Worship Leader will also help gauge and nurture the spiritual health of the worship team and its volunteers, fostering alignment with Compass’s vision of “Navigating people to God.”
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Worship Leadership
- Lead worship for weekend services.
- Lead worship for other various events.
- Plan Worship sets for all services.
- Technical proficiency in music production software (e.g., Ableton, MainStage, Playback, Studio One) and audio equipment (e.g., mics, IEMs).
- Assist in programming of all services and main stage events.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop relationships with vocalists and instrumentalists.
- Provide pastoral care and encouragement to worship team members and volunteers.
- Schedule vocalists and instrumentalists for all services.
- Lead all worship and programming staff at the Campus.
- Lead weekly campus production meeting.
- Run Rehearsals with vocalists and instrumentalists.
- Lead the Worship Team spiritually with devotions and prayer weekly.
- Work alongside the Production Pastor to enhance the worship environment through technical and creative innovations.
- Help assess and nurture the spiritual health of the worship ministry team.
Campus Ministry
- Attend weekly Campus Staff Meeting.
- Other duties given by the Campus Pastor.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to campus next gen worship leaders and teams.
- Be an active part of Compass Roanoke in a way that you would want your best volunteers to be.
Central Collaboration
- Attend Worship and Compass Staff meetings.
- Other duties given by the Executive Pastor of Worship.
- Write and record with Compass Worship.
- Lead worship at Compass central events and ministries when necessary.
Work Schedule: Full-Time.

- Help build and lead worship for weekend services that you would actually attend if you didn’t work here.
- Lead rehearsals and run-throughs that make the team better, prepare for the service and don’t waste anyone’s time.
- Lead worship at campus and church events in a unifying, engaging and Jesus-honoring way.
- You don’t have to know everything about music theory or production, but you will be leading people who are passionate about those things. So some knowledge in those areas would be helpful.

Education Requirement: High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
