Summary
The Preschool:
Compass Christian Preschool is a ministry of Compass Christian Church. Compass is a church of 4000 and growing with campuses in Colleyville, Grapevine, Roanoke and Online. The preschool provides early childhood education, for children ages 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten in a loving Christian environment.
Substitute Teacher Synopsis:
A loving and caring individual assigned to work as a classroom assistant teacher with a lead teacher.
Hours:
8:30 am – 2:30 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday
*This is a part time, as needed position.
Qualifications
We require a committed Christian who is comfortable working in a church/preschool environment, and is like-minded regarding our Christian beliefs (see Compass Beliefs, Values and Staff Commandments on our website) with the following qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Responsibilities:
- Maintains, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom. The substitute teacher will take directions from the lead teacher in the classroom.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to listen and follow directions provided by the lead teacher;
- Is organized and has the ability to multitask;
- Is a great team player with co-workers;
- Is dedicated to keeping a high standard of care at all times with children;
- Work with minimal physical restrictions; lift up to 25 lbs., being able to stand for extended periods, climb into an indoor play structure and sit on the floor to play with children;
- Can think on their feet, work well under pressure. This is essential when working with children;
- Has the ability to assess and properly respond to situations that arise;
- Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving;
- Demonstrate competency, good judgement, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities;
- Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience;
- Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and their cultures;
- Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the school;
