Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their overall well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the clinical team.
- Implement therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed professionals, including cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and art therapy.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with ICD-9 standards and medical terminology protocols.
- Support individuals with autism and other developmental disorders through behavior management strategies.
- Engage in group therapy sessions and facilitate discussions that promote positive mental health practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health settings preferred, particularly with pediatrics or individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy principles and behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and terminology related to mental health care.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in managing patient care tasks.
