About the role:
As an Organizational Lead in Pedagogy, you will support the Organizational culture, Pedagogy, and Professional Learning within Compass Early Learning and Care. You will uphold a culture where people feel supported and have a sense of belonging. You will foster and support a program with a deepening culture of reflective practice and growing pedagogy that is aligned with Compass ELC’s vision framework, values, pedagogical themes, cultural elements and How Does Learning Happen. You will model and grow a perspective of equity and strive for a deeper understanding of cultural awareness. Hours will be based on program needs and funding. You will work a 35-hour week Monday to Friday.
Some Accountabilities of the role include:
Organizational Accountabilities:
- Practice Collaborative Leadership- compassionate communication, giving and receiving feedback, using the decision-making protocol when working through dilemmas or proposals
- Live into Compass ELC’s vision framework, values, diversity, equality, and inclusion in accordance with CELC Policies and all other relevant legislation
Pedagogy Accountabilities:
- Collaborating and connecting with the Pedagogical team
- Policy and Protocol Development
- Coordinate Professional Learning – Internal and External
- Participate in Community Partnerships
- Nurture a culture of collaboration, research, and reflective practice across the organization
- Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage a professional learning budget
- Supporting and coaching mentorship conversations
- Participate in organizational networks

Qualifications and Skills:
- Registration with the College of Early Childhood Education and in Good Standing
- Has relevant leadership and mentorship experience
- Familiarity and knowledge of applicable software and technology
- Ability to work positively and productively within a team
- Excellent communication skills to build relationships and connections, share information about the organization, respond to questions, engage in active listening, etc.
- Facilitation and the Reflection Model for Professional Learning
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the early learning sector
- Has access to reliable transportation
