Job Summary
Manage daily kitchen operations for a K-12 private school, serving roughly 350 PreK-5 students plus staff. Responsibilities include menu planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation, as well as occasional catering and summer camp meals. Ensure compliance with health regulations, client culture, and quality standards. Train and lead the back-of-house team to deliver excellence in service, safety, and presentation.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6 AM-3 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and participate in meal preparation for students and staff.
Plan menus and implement new programs in coordination with marketing and culinary teams.
Manage cost controls, ordering, and inventory.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and presentation standards.
Provide occasional catering and support for summer camp meals.
Train, motivate, and supervise back-of-house staff.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
5 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
Solid understanding of industry trends, cost control, sanitation, and food presentation.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office and production sheet management.
ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred.
Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
