Schedule: Shift work between 6:00am and 8:00pm with every 3rd weekend.

Job Summary
Working as the Sous Chef, you are responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a 96-bed hospital that offers a dining on-call program for patients, serving both hot and cold meals. This $2M account also has a cafeteria (with an employee window), full-service coffee shop, as well as catering and vending services. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, producing daily menu items and their garnishment. You may supervise 18-21 hourly associates and work with Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering and inventory. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produces and execute catering events
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
- A.S. or equivalent experience
- 2 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
- High volume, complex foodservice operations or catering experience a plus
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful, preferably in a healthcare, hotel or high-volume restaurant
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified - highly desirable
