Job Title: Food Service Worker/Cashier
Location: Lyon County School District, 3800 Spruce Street, Silver Springs, NV 89429
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 1:30 pm
We are hiring a full-time Food Service Worker/Cashier to join our team at the Lyon County School District. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for performing cashiering duties, including general food service work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
- Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
- Store foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
- Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Relay relevant information to supervisor.
- Perform sales transactions.
- Enter sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
- Makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment.
- Issues receipts to customers.
- Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
- Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards.
- Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
