Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team as an Prep Cook. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about food and eager to learn the fundamentals of kitchen operations. The primary focus of this role is on preparation tasks, ensuring that ingredients are ready for the cooking process, with minimal involvement in actual cooking activities.
Responsibilities:
- Ingredient Preparation:
- Wash, peel, chop, dice, and slice various ingredients.
- Measure and portion ingredients accurately to meet recipe specifications.
- Prepare stocks, sauces, and other base components for use in the cooking process.
- Organization and Storage:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficient food preparation.
- Properly label and store prepped ingredients to ensure freshness and ease of use..
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or tools.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate prep activities and ensure a smooth flow of operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to meet production schedules and maintain a positive work environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: No prior professional kitchen experience required; however, a passion for food and a willingness to learn are essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift 30 lbs objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in following recipes and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Team Player: Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
