The Associate Director of Clinical Services plays a pivotal role in supporting the Vice President of Clinical Services in overseeing the hospital’s clinical and professional operations. This position involves strategic planning, development, and evaluation of professional psychological practices in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as CMS and DNV standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical guidance and supervision to the professional and clinical services team.
- Facilitate professional services meetings for clinical staff.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the psychological services department.
- Interpret and enforce hospital policies and procedures effectively.
- Manage fiscal operations of the clinical and professional services department, including budget development and financial controls.
- Collaborate with the Continuous Quality Improvement team to establish a quality assurance program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Coordinate care for patients needing clinical services in alignment with treatment goals set by the attending psychiatrist and treatment team.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of psychology staff, providing essential orientation and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional capabilities to manage diverse stressors and complex situations effectively.
- Proven supervisory and clinical guidance skills.
- In-depth knowledge of policies and procedures related to psychological services.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance programs.
- Ability to coordinate care effectively with treatment teams.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required; a Doctorate degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inpatient hospital practice is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in testing and therapy with adults, adolescents, and pre-adolescents in an inpatient setting is essential.
- Licensure as LPC, LMFT, or LCSW is required; Licensed Psychologist is preferred.
