The Nursing Education Coordinator is pivotal in developing and managing nursing education and training initiatives within Primary Care. The Coordinator will design and implement training modules while conducting annual skills-based evaluations for nursing staff. This position may be based from any existing CHN office or site location, with required travel for various responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the supervision and direction of the Medical Assistant (MA) training program.
- Coordinate effectively with clinical sites and preceptors.
- Review, update, and ensure quality control of training materials.
- Facilitate ongoing nursing education and training, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Design and implement in-service programs related to nursing education and quality.
- Develop and oversee annual skills assessments and remedial training programs for nursing staff requiring additional support.
- Provide training and education for new medical devices and technologies.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure nursing staff compliance with training requirements and assist with remediation as necessary.
- Serve as a clinical training subject matter expert for other departments in relation to primary care needs.
- Prepare status reports on training and education metrics for the Medical Directors and the VP of Primary Care.
- Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Proficient in healthcare technology software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective training programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices.
- Required: Registered Nurse licensure.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a registered nurse in a primary health care setting.
- At least two (2) years of experience in nursing education and training, including roles within accredited nursing schools or hospital training programs.
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
