Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards.
- Conduct health assessments, pain evaluations, and vital sign monitoring for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, including passing medications, injections, and overseeing self-administration by patients.
- Maintain accurate medication management, including completing and updating the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and managing controlled substances.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health and medication management.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care coordination for patients in behavioral crisis.
- Document and report any observable changes in patients’ behavior and physical condition.
- Participate in team and leadership meetings as required.
- Assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures, while also educating new staff on protocols.
- Be prepared to manage mandatory overtime when necessary.
- Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to effectively handle high-pressure situations.
- Capability to provide direct care to adults, especially those who may exhibit agitation or distress.
- An Associate's degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
- A valid LPN or RN license in Missouri is required.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience is essential, with a preference for training in a hospital or acute care environment.
