Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation of the Medication Clinic and provide nursing coverage aligned with practitioner schedules.
- Serve as a case manager for clients requiring medication refills.
- Prepare for and adapt to frequent schedule changes while traveling to nearby clinics for nursing support and training.
- Educate clients on medication through review sessions.
- Accurately document medication clinic activities and psychiatric consultations for client records.
- Administer intramuscular medications, dispense sample medications, and maintain precise logs of all medications received and distributed.
- Assist with prior authorizations and maintain updated lists of injections, coordinating their ordering and delivery while monitoring for side effects.
- Conduct vital sign assessments and manage the prediabetes screening process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with relevant software applications.
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic medical environment.
- Understanding of medication administration and patient care protocols.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- Must possess GPN, LPN, GN, or RN credentials and pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
