This full-time position requires a commitment of 12-hour shifts on weekends. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, you will coordinate care and services for our clients while adhering to the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide both direct and indirect patient care to designated age groups, including preadolescents, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to facilitate patient and family education.
- Act as a Preceptor and mentor for new employees, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
- Participate in mandatory overtime to meet critical staffing needs.
- Engage in the hospital’s Continuous Quality Improvement Program and serve on assigned committees.
- Fulfill the requirement of attending 52 hours of continuing education annually to maintain nursing competency.
- Strong ability to manage and work with aggressive patients, incorporating physical intervention techniques when necessary.
- Physical strength and endurance to perform tasks involving lifting and transporting patients and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to foster teamwork and patient education.
- Competency in providing age-appropriate care within the nursing scope of practice.
- Valid RN licensure in Missouri is required.
- An Associate’s degree in nursing is mandatory, while a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
