Key Responsibilities
- Provide both direct and indirect patient care to assigned age groups, including preadolescents, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and services for clients.
- Engage in patient and family education to promote health awareness and understanding.
- Participate in physical intervention techniques when required, handling aggressive patient situations.
- Act as a mentor and educator for new employees, fostering their integration into the team.
- Attend and contribute to hospital committees and continuous quality improvement programs.
- Fulfill mandatory overtime as necessitated by patient care obligations.
- Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficient verbal, written, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Cognitive and emotional maturity to manage multiple stressors and complex situations.
- Physical strength and agility for effective patient handling, including lifting and transporting.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including a minimum of 52 hours of continuing education per year.
- Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Active RN or GN licensure, with the requirement to pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience is preferred.
