Residential Services Specialist - Full Time

Compass Health is currently looking for a Residential Services Specialist to join our Housing program.
What you will be performing
The Housing Residential Services Specialist assists clients exiting from homelessness, hospitals, jails, and residential treatment facilities to maintain Compass Health supported housing. This position is responsible for performing security, facility maintenance and residential care duties, assisting clients in complying with lease terms, and developing effective working relationships with residents, housing case managers, clinicians, community members, visiting professionals, and third party property management vendors.
- Monitors basic needs of residents in supported housing and provide information and directions to community resources.
- Provides encouragement and support for residents, modeling interpersonal and living skills.
- Support residents to meet their goals identified in their housing assessments.
- Partner with the housing case managers and clinicians working with the residents to share pertinent information.
- Requests crisis interventions as needed.
- Monitor building to ensure that only authorized persons enter the building.
- Serve as the liaison between the resident and visitors by logging in residents guests and explaining and enforcing building rules.
- Assists property manager in performing maintenance and janitorial responsibilities i.e. unclogs toilets, spot cleaning community spaces, empty trash and recycling.
- Notifies Property Management vendor regarding maintenance services as needed.
- Assist with unit inspections and provide direct assistance to residents in cleaning and organizing their apartments.
- Support the property management vendor with move-ins, move-outs, and re-certifications.
- Keeps appropriate documentation and maintains compliance with agency standards and regulations.
- Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
- Understands and practices safekeeping of client protected health information per Compass Healths HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.

What you will be carrying along
- 1 year experience working with people living with mental illness preferred
- Experience in residential services and/or supportive housing programs preferred.
- Assist with the pickup and distribution of food donations from our community partners. This may include driving the agency van.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
What you will be sharing

- Basic knowledge of Landlord Tenant Laws, and Fair Housing.
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with the client population served.
- Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work individually and work cooperatively with others as an effective team member.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.
- General computer proficiency.
- Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be working in a direct service environment that will include reception office, common areas, client units, warming kitchen, trash rooms, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
