Compass Intervention Center is a 108-bed, free-standing facility that treats children and teens, ages 12 to 17 for Residential and Acute patients; ages 10 to 17 for our Outpatient Programs struggling with a psychiatric, substance abuse or dual diagnosis disorder. It is the only TRICARE®-certified residential treatment facility in Memphis, Tennessee. About the Role - The Assistant Director of Nursing serves as a key member of the facility and is on the senior management team. The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for treatment services provided for inpatient programs and creates a safe environment for clients, provides direct supervision of clients, empowers clients, and teaches new tools for coping to clients. The Assistant Director of Nursing promotes client care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Compass Intervention Center and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. This position assumes on-call status (Administrator on Call) on a rotational basis.
Responsibilities - Key Responsibilities include: Assistant Director of Nursing prescribes; coordinates, and is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit.
Qualifications - Position Requirements: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Prefer 2-3 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, clinical supervisory role in an inpatient psychiatric setting, and administrative/management experience. Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse. American Nursing Association Psychiatric Mental Health Certificate preferred. Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
