What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Clinician position at Compass Medical Provider, LLC?
This position assists members of the NC National Guard (NCNG), other Reserve Components and their Families with behavioral health services as a team member of the NCNG Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS).
Location: Seeking candidates in these general location of Lenoir, NC.
Perform as a professionally licensed psychotherapist, providing services to clients with behavioral health disorders including psychological assessment, evaluation, telephonic and in-person crisis intervention, evidence based treatments for trauma and clinical case management in an outpatient setting embedded within NCNG armories, and Reserve Component Family Assistance Centers. Provide consultation services to Command upon request that include making appropriate recommendations for treatment, referral and resources available.
The NCNG IBHS is driven by a state-wide 24/7/365 toll free Helpline and serves as the portal of entry for all support services. This portal of entry must be monitored and responded to immediately by the Licensed Behavioral Health Clinicians on a rotating basis. Candidates must recognize the fast paced work requirement of the position. Clinicians will ensure that the responses to the NCNG IBHS 24/7/365 Helpline are effectively handled in a time sensitive manner as they are received, per SOP, including off-hours when assigned to the queue.
Work with Case Managers in properly maintaining service records within the electronic data base for each individual served. Provide secure handling and storage of all completed case records, reports, logs and communications records.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong clinical skills in the areas of assessment, evaluation, diagnoses, treatment planning, and evidence-based treatments (EBTs).
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to write thorough clinical reports, psychological evaluations, case formulations, treatment notes, etc.
- Experience and proficiency in performing the evidenced-based, manualized treatment protocols for trauma to include Cognitive Processing therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), etc.
- Experience working with individuals presenting with PTSD, mood disorders, psychosis, grief, loss, and marital problems.
- Experience working with military and/or law enforcement populations and having an understanding of the military/first responder lifestyle and the ability to work clinically with them as well as their Families. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and Vet Center experience is preferable.
- Short-term, non-medical, life consulting and/or employee assistance program experience will not be considered adequate in themselves.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid NC state license as a LCSW, LPC or LMFT at the independent provider level with a minimum of three years post-graduate experience in behavioral health, individual, couple, family, mental health, and domestic and workplace violence counseling services.
- Maintain good standing in all applicable accreditation(s), licenses and certificates required by but not limited to the appropriate agencies and/or Boards.
- Maintain a professional liability insurance policy.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement of skills through targeted CEUs.
- Experience with computerized client management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite Software (Power Point, Excel, Word, Access).
- Experience or knowledge of the military.
- Comfort in educating and speaking in public.
- Knowledge of diagnostic skills in areas of psychopathology and psychosocial dynamics for clients.
- Skilled in crisis intervention and facilitating hospitalizations.
- Comfort in performing Critical Incident Stress Management events pertaining to the deaths of Servicemembers.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense Instruction 6490.08 and state legal information pertaining to patient confidentiality for behavioral health counseling specific to military populations. (Preferred)
- Ability to travel in and out of state.
- Ability to work weekends and after hours as assigned. (Flex Hours)
- Ability to work independently and within a virtual team environment.
