Job Summary
This role directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in electrical system repair, maintenance, and installation. The supervisor directly oversees 8-10 employees in the Electrical Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedules, assigns, plans, and supervises electrical shop personnel work.
- Ensures crews work efficiently, with upcoming crews having appropriate work lined up as per electrical plan.
- Conducts regular safety meetings.
- Provides technical expertise to ensure exceptional production.
- Maintains high voltage systems and equipment.
- Maintains permissibility on underground equipment according to MSHA regulations.
- Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of electrical expenditures, and procedures for equipment and equipment maintenance.
- Ensures a safe working environment through attention to housekeeping and workplace inspections.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining safe work conditions, adherence to operational policies and procedures, and adherence to MSHA regulations.
- Responsible for meeting budget guidelines and assisting in preparation of capital and operational budgets.
- Completes necessary daily MSHA and other checks/reports.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of underground mining experience, with preference given to those with underground mine supervisory experience in the salt mining industry.
- Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, experience with Allen Bradley PLC controls or similar control systems, and experience with instrumentation processes.
