- Summary :
- Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Supervises maintenance crew
- Assesses ongoing maintenance projects and job orders and determines work priorities
- Directs maintenance activities and delegates work to crew
- Ensures safe working conditions and safe work procedures are understood and followed by crew
- Communicates equipment and job order status to appropriate people and departments
- Provides technical advice and / or directs mechanics to technical resources
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Qualifications
- Education and / or Experience :
- Technical training in mechanical maintenance.
- Eight years maintenance and 5 years supervisory experience required with direct work experience maintaining heavy diesel equipment and conveyor systems.
- Underground mine experience preferred.
- Experience with shaft maintenance will be considered an asset.
- Physical Requirements :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in underground salt mining facility. Directly supervises 8 to 15 employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training; planning, assigning, and directing work; ensure work is completed on a safe and efficient manner.
