What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Compass Park?
General Responsibilities
- Prepares resident menu items in accordance with forecasted and/or tallied quantities, following established CP recipes at all times.
- Adheres to HACCP guidelines to maintain sanitation and infection control of all food preparation and service.
- Maintains work station and production area in a clean and orderly condition at all times. Including counter tops, and carts. Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use
- Follows Board of Health and department sanitation procedures and maintains a clean, sanitary working environment.
- Accurately inventories and maintains necessary supplies to ensure efficiency of the supplies
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection control and sanitation with food temperatures, hand washing, use of gloves and dating of food when required to handle food
- Utilizes equipment in performing job functions as per department safety procedures
- Communicates all customer concerns to supervisor and/or Director
- Demonstrates knowledge of food preparation for modified diets based upon restrictions relating to age, nutrient and texture modifications. Able to explain food safety issues appropriate for age.
- Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals used, following directions recommended by manufactures and per MSDS sheets.

- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress code including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Preferred two years of college or equivalent preferred.
- Prior cooking experience preferred.
- 1-2 years food production experience, in health care environment desirable, but not required.
- Knowledge of modified diets principles and safe, sanitary food handling techniques.
- Must have ability to work harmoniously with a variety of people.
