Indiana Masonic Home Compass Park is looking to add to our Pastry Team. Compass Park is a vast 320-acre community in the heart of Johnson County adjacent to Indianapolis. It is a vibrant community through all seasons and a place of beauty, rich in tall trees and winding footpaths. This job is in Franklin, IN.
Pastry Chef Responsibilities:
- Create unique baked goods based on client specifications
- Ensure that the kitchen is always clean and meets all local health code requirements
- Developing creative customized cakes and baked goods for banquets and weddings
- Maintain a stock of sample pastries that can be presented to people considering working with our business for their special event
- Meet with guests reserving banquet halls to discuss specific baking needs and any special requests
- Must be able to create scratch baking, pies, cake decorating, cakes, and cookies, breads,
- and wedding cakes
- Projects and practices consistent ownership attributes, which provide a high level of customer service at all points of contact,
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including knowledge transfers and conflict management issue escalation
- Service oriented, collaborative approach to internal customer and peer relations
Pastry Chef Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required (Culinary degree preferred)
- 1-5 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a banquet environment.
- Must be able to provide a portfolio of creative work for consideration.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Precise eye for detail
