Job Overview:
The Associate Director, Clinical Operations plays a key role in the execution of clinical trials, ensuring operational excellence and the successful delivery. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day management of clinical trials, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
In this role, the Associate Director, Clinical Operations will contribute significantly to advancing Compass Pathways' innovative mental health therapies through efficient and effective clinical operations management.
Duration: 6-month contract.
Location: Remote on the East Coast, US or hybrid in our NYC office.
Reports to: Senior Director, Clinical Operations.
Roles and responsibilities
(include but are not limited to):
- Trial Management:
- Oversee the operational execution of clinical trials, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards
- Manage relationships with clinical trial sites, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Develop and maintain trial-specific documents, including protocols, informed consent forms, and case report forms
- Monitor trial progress and identify and resolve any issues that may arise
- Team Leadership:
- Line manage a small team of clinical operations professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment
- Process Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical operations processes and procedures
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
- Compliance and Quality:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines
- Maintain accurate and complete trial documentation and ensure that regulations and policies are followed at each step of the trials' conduct
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline ideal
- Extensive experience in clinical operations, with recent experience at a sponsor a plus
- Experience in managing clinical trials in the field of mental health or neurology is desirable
- Strong understanding of clinical trial regulations and guidelines
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognise employees for their work and any role at Compass, regardless of the location, is eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equity.
