Job Overview:
The Director, Patient Engagement will play a critical role in the success of our clinical trials by ensuring we identify, engage, and retain the right patients for our innovative mental health therapies. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of patient recruitment and retention methodologies, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for improving the lives of those living with mental health challenges.
The Director will lead the development and execution of patient-centric strategies, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise enrolment and participation throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
Location: Remote on the East Coast, US or hybrid in our NYC office.
Reports to: Senior Director, Clinical Operations.
Roles and responsibilities
(include but are not limited to):
- Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement innovative global patient recruitment and retention strategies across multiple clinical trials
- Develop patient advocacy engagement plans to work with potential patient populations
- Develop and manage patient recruitment budgets
- Outreach and Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with patient advocacy groups, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders
- Develop and execute patient-centric outreach and education programs
- Trial Site Support:
- Provide guidance and support to clinical trial sites on patient recruitment and retention best practices
- Develop and deliver training materials for site staff
- Performance Monitoring:
- Track and analyse patient recruitment and retention strategy metrics
- Identify trends and areas for improvement
- Report on performance to senior management
- Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in patient recruitment and retention
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and approaches to improve performance
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline or related field is ideal
- Extensive experience in patient recruitment and retention for clinical trials
- Experience in CNS and in particular in the field of mental health is desirable
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful patient recruitment and retention strategies
- Strong understanding of clinical trial regulations and guidelines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
