Compass Pointe Consulting LLC, is a Maryland based, Woman Owned Small Business specializing in IT and Finance & Accounting Solutions and Services is looking for a Senior Network Engineer pos to work ONSITE in Arlington Virginia- MUST HAVE CCNP AND PRIOR STATE LOCAL OR EDUCATION EXPERIENCE.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead and support a critical data center move. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in planning, designing, and implementing large-scale network migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead the planning and execution of a data center migration, including the design, testing, and
deployment of network solutions.
Evaluate current network infrastructure and create a migration strategy that optimizesperformance, scalability, and security.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, andload balancers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, storage engineers, andproject managers, to ensure seamless integration during the migration.
Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential migrationchallenges.
Monitor network performance and address issues promptly during and after the migration.Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to support ongoing operations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalentexperience).
7 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on data center environments.Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.Experience with SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions.Knowledge of virtualization technologies and hybrid cloud environments.Experience in scripting or automation (Python, Ansible, etc.).Proven expertise in data center moves or large-scale network migrations.Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Juniper, or similar).Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs,VTP, Spanning Tree).
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices.Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technicalstakeholders.
