• Perform routine inspections of railcars to identify mechanical, structural, and safety issues.
• Conduct repairs on railcar components such as brakes, couplers, wheels, doors, and suspension systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical or structural defects in railcars.
• Follow company and industry safety regulations, including FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with company policies.
• Work in outdoor and industrial environments, sometimes under harsh weather conditions.
• Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, and other team members regarding repair needs and progress.
• Ensure railcars are safe for continued operation before returning them to service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in mechanical repair, welding, or a related field (preferred).
