The general purpose of the MRU Supervisor is to supervise the MRU Technicians and oversee job site operations. Fill in and perform all functions of an MRU Technician as required. Perform audits of quality and production to include, but not limited to, daily production reports, purchase requests, inspections, quality documents, photo documentation, ect. Work with the Director of Mobile Operations and Director of Quality Assurance to perform training and certification of MRU Technicians.
Pay Range:
Full Time – starting at $75,000 a year
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for completing work tasks as assigned by MRU Manager.
· Complete paperwork as required by customers, company, and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain safe, clean and organized work area. Complete assigned work in designated areas and within goal times. Adhere to all company Quality, Safety, Production procedures and process.
· Performs a variety of duties to support the railroad division:
o Ensure all material and tools are available and ready before dispatch to job-site.
o Identify and report problems that arise on-site.
o Communicate and work with all members of MRU Crew to complete all job tasks and projects.
o Communicates with MRU Area Manager and appropriate staff personnel to integrate activities.
o Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
· Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
o MRU Crew
o Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel; trains new personnel as required.
o Reviews employee performance throughout the orientation period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
o Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
o Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
o Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by company policy.
· Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
· Reports pertinent information to the immediate Manager as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel, information regarding Production, QA, and Safety.
· Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
Qualifications/Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Company policies for Operations, Safety, Quality
o CFR 49 179.7
o Hazmat
· Customer Procedure Access
· Company portals and programs
· NDT (if applicable)
· Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; ability to read
· blueprints and understand engineering terminology, proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
· Proficient mechanical skills, visual and auditory skills; ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less.
· A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related positions, preferable Rail Repair
