Position:
We seek a grant writer to assist with research and preparation and:
- Identify existing needs which may be met by funders to develop revenue for Compass Rose International
- Research and identify new grant funding prospects
- Develop letters and proposals for grant submission
- Coordinate grant activity
- Develop timelines for meeting strict submittal deadlines
- Develop relationships with potential funders and grantees
- Collaborate with grantees to prepare future grant proposals
- Provide content input and support for newly-developed large and small grants
- Support execution of grants
- Monitor the performance of select grants
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Technical writing and research experience preferred; we can train you for grant writing
- Deep personal interest and commitment to the mission of the organization
- Proven track record of working in a high-intensity environment and ability to manage time and prioritize competing objectives
- Ability to multitask and pay attention to details
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exceptionally strong organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and comfort in working with diverse populations
- Maintains a friendly and helpful disposition and willingness to respond to employees’ needs as they arise
- Be a self-motivated team member able to complete tasks with little supervision
