Role Summary:The Vice President of Operations is responsible for the clinical and business operations at assigned centers, including managing the governing board, establishing policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance and managing each partnership within budget targets. This will include existing centers, de novo centers and acquired centers, as assigned. This role will work with the Compass executive team to ensure the firm reaches its goals. This role requires 50-75% travel and preference will be given to candidates based in Texas.
What You'll Do:Core Operations
- Develops strong relationships with Administrators, DONs, physicians and hospital executives.
- Ensures that a standard of quality is understood and maintained at each client site through a timely communication channel, audit, and on-site evaluation program.
- Establishes and manages center Administrators to achieve appropriate operational targets
- Ensures each center achieves and/or exceeds budget.
- Maintains effective communication channels with leadership at each facility to ensure goals are being accomplished, and to quickly address problems as they occur.
- Maintains strong communication with CSP Executive Team and Center Board to ensure issues are addressed and a cohesive operations plan is established and maintained.
- Responsible for assisting in the hiring and oversight of Center Leadership and ensuring that proper staff is in place. May be asked to fill in for Administrator when/if needed.
Developing & Acquired Centers
- Oversees the transition and supports development of de novo centers (as coordinated with COO, BD lead, Market President, Facility Development), and this could occur anywhere from start through licensure, accreditation, and Medicare certification.
- Ensures the development and integration of a strong operations program at de novo and newly acquired centers, which includes (but not be exclusive to) policies/procedures, staffing plan, quality control, vendor relationships, partnership management, licensure/accreditation/certification requirements, and protocols.
- Oversees the hiring of Center Leadership (including Site Administrator) at de novo centers, and integration of leadership/staff at newly acquired centers.
Due Diligence
- Ensures all operational due diligence is properly managed and completed for any potentially acquired or potential de novo center.
- Ensures evaluation of staffing, financial analysis, equipment needs, and policy/procedure needs at all centers/clients that Compass is considering.
- Establishes an appropriate integration plan for all newly acquired or de novo centers to assimilate into Compass operations and compliance program.
Executive Leadership
- Provides Executive Leadership and Compass’ Board (when needed) with updates on how strategic initiatives and the financial/operations program will be accomplished
- Ensures that all decisions made regarding existing and new facility development is done in conjunction with Compass budget and return on investment objectives.
- 10 years of leadership experience in ASC or clinical healthcare operations, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance
- Proven ability to lead clinical teams, enhance care delivery, and ensure alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Expertise in driving operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional patient outcomes
- Strong understanding of staffing models, scheduling optimization, and clinical resource management
- Demonstrated success building trust with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support high-quality, patient-centered care
- Strategic thinker with the ability to implement scalable improvements across multi-site clinical environments
