Key Responsibilities:
- Traffic Control Plan Design:
- Design and draft traffic control plans (TCPs) in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure all plans meet safety standards and are appropriate for the specific job sites.
- Crew Management & Scheduling:
- Oversee and manage traffic control crews at various job sites.
- Create work schedules for crew members, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate and dispatch crews for assignments and ensure that work is being performed safely and efficiently.
- Training & Development:
- Assist in training new employees on traffic control procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and training for existing employees to improve skills and knowledge.
- Daily Operations & Oversight:
- Monitor and review the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth running of projects.
- Conduct safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting on-site issues.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and government entities.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and local authorities to ensure traffic control measures align with project needs.
- Equipment & Resource Management:
- Ensure proper maintenance, inventory, and readiness of traffic control equipment (signs, cones, barriers, etc.).
- Monitor the condition of equipment and report any necessary repairs or replacements.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Traffic Control or a similar field.
- Proven experience in traffic control planning and management.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing crews.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using traffic control design software (such as CAD or similar tools).
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing job site conditions.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal traffic control regulations and standards.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or roadwork.
- First aid and CPR certifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and practices.
