Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Quality Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall Quality Management System, ensuring the highest standards of quality in our processes, and driving continuous improvement within the company. This position reports directly to the CEO, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision and facilitating swift decision-making to drive quality management and growth initiatives.

This is a part time position, for approximately 10 hours of work per week.  This may vary due to quality audits, recurring ISO responsibilities, or other related factors.  

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Management:
    • Oversee the overall Quality Management System.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines, ensuring accuracy, precision, and adherence to industry standards.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews of project data, methodologies, and deliverables to identify areas for improvement and ensure data integrity.
    • Collaborate with project teams to address quality issues, provide guidance on best practices, and drive corrective actions to maintain high-quality outcomes.
    • Perform ISO 9001 Internal Audits.
    • Maintain product quality by enforcing Procedures and Work Instructions.
    • Assist with ensuring the effectiveness of the Equipment Calibration, Preventive Maintenance, and Nonconforming and Corrective Action processes.
    • Ensure that various monitoring processes, including Quality Objectives, are kept up to date.
    • Assist with customer complaint investigations.
  2. Internal Growth and Training:
    • Design and implement a comprehensive training program for both new hires and existing team members, covering technical skills, software proficiency, and industry advancements.
    • Identify skills gaps within the team and develop tailored training plans to upskill team members, fostering their professional growth and enhancing their contributions.
    • Work closely with project managers to assess individual performance and provide guidance on career development paths within the company.
    • Design and champion a "Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship Program" that encourages team members to actively engage in training and mentoring their colleagues.
  3. Process Enhancement:
    • Continuously assess and refine internal processes related to quality management, ensuring streamlined workflows, improved efficiency, and reduced error rates.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance data collection, processing, and analysis capabilities.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with project managers, data analysts, and technical teams to ensure a unified approach to quality standards and growth initiatives.
    • Act as a liaison between management and field teams, communicating quality goals, performance metrics, and growth opportunities.
    • Maintain strong relationships with all areas of the business.
    • Keep the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  5. Industry Awareness:
    • Stay updated with the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in quality management.
    • Proactively integrate new knowledge into the company's processes and training initiatives to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Geospatial Science, Surveying, Geography, or a related field.
  • Five to 10 years of experience as a Quality Manager or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in quality management principles, including ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits (either internal or external).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Leadership qualities with a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard GIS software and tools is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for customers.
