What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Therapist position at Compassion Behavioral Health?
Our compassionate, family-oriented Mental Health treatment facility is seeking a full-time Primary Therapist for our Residential Mental Health Treatment facility. A proven self-starter who can come in and hit the ground running, bringing fresh ideas to motivate and engage clients suffering from Mental Health disorders. The Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical services to clients and their families.
Position reports to: Clinical Director
Schedule: Sunday thru Thursday
Skills and Requirements:
MASTERS REQUIRED
License or RMHCI - PREFERRED
Proven clinical experience
Proven experience with acute mental health patients
Performs individual and group therapy and carries a caseload of up to 12 clients
Performs biopsychosocial assessments, trauma assessments and suicide risk assessments; creates individualized treatment plans and conducts treatment plan reviews; writes daily group notes, weekly individual progress notes and transfer/discharge summaries all completed in a timely manner to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and in-house clinical guidelines. (**Please be prepared to discuss clinical notes and treatment plans during your interview.)
Provides couples counseling and/or family therapy sessions weekly via telephone or in person
Provides crisis counseling while blocking potential AMA discharges
Attends daily staff meetings and weekly clinical group supervision meetings
Strong documentation skills
Excellent listening and communication skills
Experience with EMR's - Kipu software experience, preferred.
