Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to determine health status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning for patients.
- Manage acute pain effectively through appropriate interventions.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment options.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Utilize Athenahealth software for documentation and patient management.
- Participate in sterile processing procedures as necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care quality.
- Stay updated on best practices in dementia care and other relevant fields.
Qualifications
- Advanced practice nursing degree (Master’s or Doctorate) from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and its application in clinical settings.
- Experience in pediatric care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques is a plus.
- Proven experience in patient assessment, discharge planning, and physical examinations.
- Knowledge of acute pain management strategies is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
