Adult Ministries Pastor

Position Overview:

The Pastor of Adult Ministries will provide leadership, vision, and oversight to Youth, Young Adults, Worship, and Adult Ministries (including small groups and spiritual growth opportunities) at Compassion Church. This leader will develop ministry leaders, build teams, and help create clear pathways for spiritual growth and connection from students to adults. Depending on gifting and need, this person may directly lead the Young Adults ministry or oversee the leader responsible for it. The Pastor of Ministries will partner with the Lead Pastor and church leadership to carry out Compassion Church’s mission and help foster a unified, healthy team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Oversight

• Provide coaching, vision, and accountability for the Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor, Adult Ministries leaders, and Young Adults ministry (either by leading directly or overseeing a leader).

• Foster collaboration between ministry areas to create seamless transitions and growth opportunities from youth through adulthood.

• Champion leadership development and team health across all ministries under your oversight.

2. Adult Ministries & Small Groups

• Oversee the adult ministries strategy, including small groups, classes, and connection points.

• Equip and develop small group leaders and adult ministry volunteers.

• Ensure clear next steps for adults to connect, grow, and lead within the church.

3. Ministry Strategy & Execution

• Collaborate with ministry leaders to set vision, establish goals, and plan ministry calendars.

• Support the Worship Pastor in maintaining a healthy, aligned worship ministry.

• Strengthen youth ministry by coaching and resourcing youth leadership and strategy.

• Lead or oversee the Young Adults ministry based on gifting and church need.

4. Staff Culture & Collaboration

• Participate in staff meetings, planning retreats, and strategic discussions.

• Contribute to a healthy, collaborative staff culture.

• Focus on developing leaders and empowering teams.

Qualifications:

• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the local church.

• 5 years of pastoral ministry experience, ideally with multi-ministry or department leadership.

• Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.

• Excellent communicator and problem-solver.

• Passion for helping people grow in faith and leadership.

• Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Compassion Church.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
