We are currently seeking to fill the Intake Coordinator/Receptionist position. 
 
-Position to be performed in the Fresno Headquarters.
-Compensation $21-$23/hr (negotiable, based on experience, etc.).
- Availability required: Three weekdays per week plus weekends.

About the Position

The Intake Coordinator/Receptionist is responsible for managing all aspects of the patient intake process, including overseeing the referral process and insurance verification. This role also provides clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director/Administrator and Clinical Director, ensuring the smooth operation of office functions while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manages daily patient referral and intake operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  2. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with referral sources, patients, and their families.
  3. Ensures seamless patient transitions by overseeing patient education, care coordination, and adherence to the plan of care.
  4. Handles insurance verification and negotiates service pricing within financial parameters.
  5. Maintains up-to-date administrative and clinical records, ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer regulations.
  6. Provides clerical and administrative support, including correspondence, word processing, and maintaining patient statistics.
  7. Answers and directs phone inquiries, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
  8. Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of required documentation, including doctor’s orders and compliance forms.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and ensures compliance with privacy regulations.
  10. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Administrator or Clinical Director.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in hospice, healthcare, or a related field, or completion of a one- or two-year business college program.
  2. Knowledge of corporate business management, insurance verification, governmental regulations, and accreditation standards.
  3. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Proficiency in word processing, data entry, and medical terminology.
  5. Ability to work independently, multitask, and interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
