Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with disabilities or chronic health conditions. This role requires a blend of caregiving skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in various environments.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Provide meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met
• Support individuals with mobility and heavy lifting as needed
• Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
• Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities
• Assist with memory care for clients experiencing cognitive challenges
• Provide hospice care for terminally ill patients, ensuring comfort and dignity
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
• Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to nursing staff

Skills

• Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility
• Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Pay: $14.09 - $14.90 per hour
