Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and personable Community Liaison to serve as a key point of contact between our organization and the community. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of fostering positive relationships with local groups, residents, and stakeholders, and effectively promoting our organization's initiatives, services, and values. The Community Liaison will play an essential role in engaging with diverse community members, addressing concerns, and ensuring that the organization's programs and services align with community needs.
This position will travel to visit facilities between Denver and Wyoming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and residents.
- Act as a representative and ambassador of the organization within the community.
- Attend and participate in local community meetings, events, and forums.
- Actively listen to the concerns and needs of community members and report these insights to leadership.
- Facilitate communication between the organization and local stakeholders to enhance public awareness and community participation in programs and services.
- Outreach and Advocacy:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs to inform residents about the organization's services, resources, and initiatives.
- Advocate for community needs and work collaboratively to develop strategies that address these needs.
- Provide educational resources, materials, and presentations to local groups and organizations.
- Coordinate and host workshops, events, or forums to promote the organization’s mission and goals.
- Conflict Resolution:
- Serve as a point of contact for community concerns and complaints, and work to resolve issues in a timely and respectful manner.
- Mediate between the community and the organization to address challenges or misunderstandings.
- Ensure open communication lines are maintained, fostering trust and transparency.
- Program Coordination and Support:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and promoting community-based programs, services, and initiatives.
- Gather feedback from the community to assess the effectiveness of existing programs and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor services that meet the needs of the community.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze community feedback to provide insights into program development and community engagement strategies.
- Track and report on outreach and engagement activities, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, events, and partnerships.
- Networking and Partnership Building:
- Establish and nurture partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration that will benefit both the community and the organization.
- Represent the organization at local networking events and civic meetings.
- Marketing and Communication:
- Develop communication materials such as newsletters, flyers, social media posts, and presentations to keep the community informed.
- Manage and update content for the organization's community outreach platforms (social media, websites, etc.).
- Create and distribute regular updates on programs, events, and activities within the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, or a similar role.
- Experience building relationships in the medical industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and build relationships across different community sectors.
- Conflict resolution skills with a focus on maintaining positive community relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of the local community, its needs, and its stakeholders is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, resourceful, and adaptable attitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual (Spanish, or other language) is a plus.
- Experience with event planning and public speaking.
- Familiarity with community development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with CRM or outreach management software.
