A CompassMSP Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for continual security improvements within the organization and with professional services projects for clients and integrations. They are a key architect and specialist who are responsible for the secure design of systems and the subsequent deployment and operation of technology and best practices to identify, analyze, and mitigate threats. They work with the security team to build secure client solutions.

They work with the security team to build secure client solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education & Certifications:
- BS/BA in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related technology discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Preferred certifications: SSCP, Security , CISA.
- Experience & Technical Expertise:
- Minimum 5 years in a technology consulting role
- Project management experience
- Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing:
- Server environments, including virtualization
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Public cloud environments (Azure-focused)
- Networking and routing
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks: NIST, CMMC, CIS, HIPAA, PCI
- Experience in scripting and process automation

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive reduction in risk and ensure CMMC compliance within systems and practices.
- Engage with prospects and clients as a security expert to communicate risk to drive client compliance.
- Deploy technical solutions and configurations for clients following compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, CIS, HIPAA, CMMC, and additional frameworks.
- Create and maintain baseline images using STIG and SCAP tools to be used for system hardening.
- Set up and configure Microsoft GCC High/365/Azure Gov, Conditional Access, Purview, Entra ID, DLP, Cloud Backup, Sentinel, Defender, and other Microsoft cloud tools.
- Research and learn new tools, methodologies, frameworks, and possesses an innate curiosity and enthusiasm for security solutions.
- Automate tasks and improve processes where possible using PowerShell, Python, and additional tools and languages.
- Write documentation on processes built and continually update the information base as work is completed.
