What we are looking for:

We currently have an open position for a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO), working out of our Hartford. CT office. This is a client-facing, office-based position. The vCISO principal role is to provide planning, budgeting, and strategic direction to our clients in relation to cyber security and compliance requirements. This position focuses primarily on providing security and compliance related consulting with the client and ensuring the required security controls and documentation are in place and being adhered to.

Responsibilities:

Providing Security and Compliance leadership and planning for a diverse group of clients as well as being the internal champion for each client within CompassMSP through the following:

Develop strong business relationships with C-suite and Executives

• Be the key point of contact for decision makers and influencers
• Conduct regular status and security/compliance review meetings to help decision makers understand how security and compliance fits into short-term and long-term business goals
• Create and communicate security roadmaps that align with various frameworks and compliance requirements
• Communicate potential risks related to cyber-security, network security and industry specific compliance
• Identify areas of risk and creating plans for mitigation
• Oversee internal support and analyst resources to ensure successful delivery of services to clients
• Educate clients on current security and compliance relevant to their specific industry
• Align CompassMSP strategically with our clients to be recognized as a leader in delivering security and compliance solutions for the small to mid-sized business market
• Coach, mentor, and inspire security and compliance team members to be the best they can be
• Provide guidance, counsel, and direction for all individuals on team, as needed

Requirements for the position are:

Experience/Skills Required:

• 5 years of experience in technology related fields including design and implementation of solutions
• 3-5 years’ experience in creating and maintaining Policies, Gap Analysis, POAM’s and SOP’s as it related to security and compliance – specific compliance experience is required i.e., HIPAA, ITAR, GDPR, DFARS
• 5-10 years of experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications
• Previous project management experience
• Prior experience in a Managed Service Provider or IT Consulting environment preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized
• Able to work on and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Exude a confident presence in meetings, with the ability to sell ideas and plans effectively to a c-level audience
  
  
  

Language/Communication Ability:

• Drive security conversations with clients across all regions to mitigate risks for both CompassMSP and our clients
• Display excellent verbal and written communication skills, including actively listening to our clients and teammates in order to respond appropriately
• Explain complex technical information in layman terms, including strategy recommendations and security/compliance concepts and standards
• Provide high-value security consulting to businesses and organizations of varying sizes, verticals, and budgets
