Where you will work:
This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) and is open to MN-Mankato, MN-Waite Park, WI-Prairie du Sac, or IL-Bloomington.
The contributions you will make:
This position collaborates with other members of the Financial Planning and Analysis, Human Resources, and Enterprise Data teams to provide internal management reporting services. Contributes to the ongoing design of internal reporting and analytics processes to provide accurate and timely information and exceptional service. Creates and produces ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports.
A typical day:
- Creates and develops accurate, consistent and timely reporting by extracting information from various applications and systems, manipulating data and developing user friendly final outputs
- Provides support for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting process including, but not limited to: expense allocations, required capital calculation, interest expense allocation, various income and expense accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Ensures reports are accurate and reconciles to systems of records (e.g. general ledger, data warehouse, etc.).
- Develops automated reports in the most effective medium.
- Generates and maintains inventories of standard reports and data field definitions and sources.
- Develops and improves financial reporting models.
- Collaborates with Finance Business Partners to understand the business reporting needs, and recommends best practices and reporting solutions.
- Creates, maintains, develops, and enhances routine reports, new reports, and ad-hoc requests based on business needs.
- Administers and/or provides support for design of financial applications including Axiom, Hyperion and General Ledger.
- Administers and/or provides support for design of financial models, such as the budget model, profitability model, ROI model and other financial models utilized by the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
The skills and experience we prefer you have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Master's preferred.
- Advanced work experience in financial planning, financial analysis or financial reporting, or equivalent.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.) and other related finance and/or report writing software applications, including, but not limited to Hyperion, Axiom, CloudSuite Financial, Crystal, Power BI, Salesforce and others as appropriate.
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Power BI reporting and analytics applications.
- Solid experience with databases and the ability to manipulate and query large data sets.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Compeer's data, data definitions, data sources and data flow.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
