Where you will work:
This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) and is based out of either the IL-Bloomington, WI-Prairie du Sac, MN-Mankato or MN-Lakeville office.
The contributions you will make:
This position leads assigned team members within loan accounting. The incumbent provides guidance to direct reports by analyzing requests and using appropriate procedures and accounting principles. The individual is responsible for supporting company-wide initiatives and services. This role requires strong decision-making skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively. Ensures processes and procedures are documented and business continuity documentation and testing are in place. Serves as a technical resource to other team members with regard to accounting processes and responsibilities within assigned areas. Leads the team in the ongoing design of process improvement to provide exceptional service, accurate and timely financial information. Collaborates with Loan Accounting leadership group and other departments to identify and provide direction to projects and enhancements that affect Loan Accounting. Communicates using one leadership voice with all stakeholders.
A typical day:
- Collaborates with the Loan Accounting leadership group to assess the desired future of the team, define the strategy, specific objectives, and the timeline to get there.
- Keeps abreast of industry best practices. Identifies and executes efficient and effective practices that enhance the team's value.
- Identifies and implements short- and long-term strategies and tactics for the department.
- Selects, develops, motivates, engages, evaluates, and compensates team members.
- Promotes a positive and inclusive team environment that leverages the talents.
- Drives continuous process improvement within the team.
- Coaches team members to effectively handle conflict and solve problems.
- Acts as a bridge between the team and senior leadership, conveying information in a way that both are heard and positively supported.
- Manages various projects, workloads, and deliverables, ensuring that business requirements and goals are met. Empowers the team to lead projects.
- Supports Compeer's business goals and collaborates with other team members to help achieve.
The skills and experience we prefer you have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Advanced accounting experience in a financial services industry.
- Previous experience in leadership.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of accounting, financial principles and project management.
- Knowledge of current industry standards, best practices, and security measures.
- Strong proven time management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail are required.
- Effective interpersonal, collaboration, team building, problem solving, decision making, analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
